Velda K. Mapelli Scholarship Fund

Velda King Mapelli was Leadership Eastside's #1 volunteer. Her favorite role was that of Class Mom. She delighted in meeting class members at the start of their LE program, helping to make them feel comfortable and welcome.

Leadership Eastside was one of many lifelong volunteer stints, as she lived her life in service to others. That's why volunteering was a perfect match for her – LE's program nurtures community leaders who in turn give back to their communities through board and commission service, as elected officials, and by volunteering.

LE's Velda Mapelli Scholarship Fund for tuition assistance will help Leadership Eastside applicants with a desire to step up to a community leadership role.

Though no longer physically among us, "Mom" will always be in our hearts.
